IG Hanf has submitted its statement on the preliminary draft of the Federal Act on Cannabis Products (CanPG). The association welcomes the draft in principle and sees it as a historic opportunity to create, for the first time, a modern, scientifically sound, and health policy-oriented legal framework for cannabis in Switzerland.
IG Hanf centrally demands that the law effectively displace the black market by creating an accessible, safe, and economically viable legal market. It also advocates for evidence-based risk categories, realistic THC limits, a permit-based rather than a licensing approach, and prioritizing domestic production.
With its recommendations, the IG Hanf aims to ensure that regulation strengthens both youth and health protection as well as creating legal certainty and market stability.
