Cannabis market in Switzerland

Cannabis generates annual sales of around one billion Swiss francs in Switzerland. This sum includes not only production and trade in the illegal shadow economy, but also many legal economic sectors, from health care to police and justice to social work. A study by the University of Geneva (UNIGE) has now examined in detail the economic effects of the current regulation of cannabis in Switzerland. It also shows: alternative forms of regulation could change this significantly.
